After a photography course at London College of Printing, I went on to a Fine Art degree at Newcastle University and was privileged to attend the groundbreaking Basic Course designed and led by Victor Pasmore and Richard Hamilton, with tutors including Joe Tilson and Eduardo Paolozzi. A memorable show premiered Hamilton’s reconstruction of the Marcel Duchamp Large Glass.
This site showcases both my unruly use of the camera, and a return to some earlier art practices with cut “dry-dyed” paper. The particular technique enforces a simplicity of shapes that suggest creation myths, images that can be both playful and universal.
I live and work in Hastings, UK and have been instrumental in founding several of its leading artists’ organisations.
